The PSVR 2 Steam app will launch this August
PC players who love virtual reality games can finally start preparing for the launch of PlayStation VR2 on PC. Sony has prepared things by officially releasing the Steam app for PlayStation VR2 on PC.
The PSVR 2 Steam app will allow users to manage PlayStation VR2 on PC and launches on August 6, 2024, just one day before the launch of PCVR support for PlayStation VR headsets.
According to the app's Steam page, the VR2 app will allow gamers to play their favorite VR games on Steam headsets.
Furthermore, the app will allow users to update the PlayStation VR2 headset's firmware when new updates are available, help set up the headset on PC, and even allow gamers to adjust VR headset settings from the SteamVR dashboard. That includes setting the playing area and screen brightness.
Of course, besides the headset and PlayStation VR2 controller, you will need Bluetooth to connect the Sense controller to your PC. You'll also need the PSVR 2 PC Adapter that was announced this past June. That will enable full support for the PlayStation VR2 headset on PC. This application is required on PC, even after the initial setup of the headset. So for all the gamers who have a PlayStation VR2 headset and want to play Steam VR games on it, this is really good news.
