Minimum configuration to run Android apps on Windows 11
In January, Microsoft promised that there would be a major update for Windows 11 and a few days ago the company fulfilled its promise. In addition to a few other features, the February update of Windows 11 is also officially for users to test running Android apps.
Currently, users can download and run Android apps on Windows 11 wua Amazon Appstore (available in the US only). Initially, the number of apps will be a bit limited.
For users to have a clearer view, Microsoft has also posted information about the minimum configuration to run Android apps on Windows 11. The software giant also recommends that users use SSD drives for a good experience. Best.
Here is the minimum configuration to run Android apps on Windows 11:
RAM | 8GB (Minimum) |
16GB (Recommended) | |
Hard drive type | Solid State Drive (SSD) |
Processor | 8th Gen Intel Core i3 (Minimum) or higher |
AMD Ryzen 3000 (Minimum) or higher
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c (Minimum) or higher
Microprocessor Architecture | x64 or ARM64 |
Virtual Machine Platform | Need to enable this setting |
Notably, on Windows 11 Microsoft does not recommend users to use any specific hard drive, but only requires a minimum of 64GB of free space. Most likely, without using an SSD, the experience of running Android apps on Windows 11 will be very bad.
Another point worth noting is that AMD's Ryzen 2000 series of processors are not supported. Microsoft specifies that only Ryzen 3000 and above are supported. It is not clear why Ryzen 2000 is not supported even though this chip line builds on the Zen+ platform and officially supports Windows 11.
