Microsoft stopped supporting Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and Yammer on Windows Phone in May
According to the latest announcement on Microsoft's website, 3 Windows Store business applications including Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and Yammer for Windows Phone will be closed from May 20, 2018.
According to the latest announcement on Microsoft's website, 3 Windows Store business applications including Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and Yammer for Windows Phone will be closed from May 20, 2018.
This means that these 3 applications will disappear from Windows Store next month. For users who have installed Yammer and Skype for Business, these applications still work but will not receive any feature updates or patches from Microsoft anymore.
Microsoft Teams will stop working completely on Windows Phone so when an user tries to connect, an error message will appear. If you want to use it, users can only use this group chat service through the web browser.
Redmond giant advises customers that if they want to use applications, they should switch to supported platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows or macOS computers.
Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows Phone 8.1 since July 2017. This means that Windows Phone has been killed, it is currently only in maintenance mode for those who are using it.
