LiveAndroid turns PC into a 'no-smartphone smartphone'

Google's program allows users to explore the operating system on x86 systems instead of spending money on a G1 or HTC Magic phone.

First, users download a "Android LiveCD " of Google Android (Cupcake version 1.5) and burn it to disk. After inserting the disc into the CD-ROM drive and restarting the computer, they can learn about Google's platform without installing or affecting files on the hard drive thanks to virtualization technology.

However, some initial tests showed that LiveAndroid does not support Wi-Fi and audio. Please refer to code.google.com/p/live-android
