How much Ram is enough with an Android smartphone?
Oppo's Find X version is supposed to be equipped with 10GB of RAM, even surpassing the RAM of a conventional computer today. 10GB Does the RAM have too much and how much is enough for a smartphone?
How RAM works on Android
With Windows computers, the amount of RAM is much better. And the essential factor for a system to work well is to ensure that there is a clean amount of RAM.
But with Android smartphones, the amount of RAM is the amount of RAM being wasted. The reason is that Android is based on the Linux kernel, a standard operating system that works completely differently than Windows computers.
Therefore, users do not need to clean up RAM on Android, this process takes place automatically. Of course, Android still needs a sufficient amount of RAM to function, if too few applications running in the background will be turned off sooner.
For example, when using the phone in Maps and Music in the background if the RAM is not enough, Music will often be turned off, leaving the Maps application.
So, how much RAM is enough for Android smartphones?
The amount of RAM for different Android smartphones is different. For example, Samsung smartphones will need more RAM than a Pixel. Because Samsung phones are often integrated with many interesting features, the operating system becomes heavier and to operate more stably it needs more RAM. Meanwhile, the Pixel runs Android root, neat and softer so that to give the same experience, it only needs less RAM than a Galaxy machine.
Even Google has a special Android version that can run smoothly on a device with only 1GB of RAM.
Currently, the standard RAM capacity for smartphones is still 4GB. However, some manufacturers such as Samsung and OnePlus are moving to 6GB, even 8GB for their flagship phones. But 10GB of RAM is definitely not needed for an Android smartphone and it's far from being a standard milestone.
In short, the Andoid smarphone does not really require too much RAM, but manufacturers will make this number even higher. One of the reasons is because this is a way to attract users.
