iOS 14.5 just released has encountered a critical error

Apple just released the critical security patch of iOS 14.5. This error can cause iPhone users to take control of the device.

A week after the release of the major iOS 14.5 update, Apple has continued to roll out iOS 14.5.1. iOS 14.5.1 update patch 2 vulnerabilities related to WebKit builder in Safari, which can help bad guys take control of iPhone, iPad of users.

In the first flaw, Apple notes that hackers can use malicious websites to run code that causes RAM errors. The second vulnerability also has a similar exploit, allowing to run code that causes the device to experience integer overflow.

Besides iOS 14.5.1 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPadOS 14.5.1 for iPad, the WebKit vulnerability has also been fixed by Apple on macOS and Apple Watch through the macOS 11.3.1 and watchOS 7.4.1 update. Apples also released iOS 12.5.3 to patch older iPhones.

According to Apple, 2 WebKit vulnerabilities have been "actively exploited" by hackers, so users should update the device as soon as possible to avoid danger. Error of not being able to enable App Tracking Transparency is also fixed in the new update.

Earlier on April 27, Apple released the iOS 14.5 update with many new features. This version allows to unlock iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a mask, a useful feature in times of the complicated Covid-19 epidemic.

iOS 14.5 also marks a big change for Apple in privacy and privacy policies when adding an App Tracking Transparency dialog. While Apple doesn't mention it directly, it's clear that this feature hits Facebook's business model.
