Although designed to work only with iOS and Android devices, there are a number of workarounds that allow the PC to use some or all of the functions that the Google Home application provides. However, there is no way to use the same Google Home application as on an Android or iOS device.

How to use the Google Home application on a PC through the Android emulator

As mentioned before, this app is only supported on Android and iOS devices, but you can install the emulator to run Android on your PC. The overall functionality will be similar, but there are some additional operations required for the emulator to be set up. However, if you don't have an Android or iOS device, the Android emulator is one of the better options.

Important note : All Google Home and Chromecast devices require this for the first time.

There are several Android emulators, so this is a priority and the resources you have are available on the PC. One of the most famous emulators, Bluestacks, will allow you to install and run some Android applications, including the Google Home application.

When the emulator and Google Home application are installed, the only problem left is setting up Google Home devices.

Use Google Chrome to mimic Google Home

Google Chrome also allows you to manage some of the functions that the Google application provides, but is very limited. Your browser must also be updated to the latest version.

Warning : You will not be able to set up any Google Home device with your Chrome browser. This function only works with the Google Home app on an Android or iOS device, so you'll need an Android or iOS device or an Android emulator for PC.

3. Select Help and then click About Google Chrome .

Tip : You can also go to this setting by entering "chrome: // settings / help" into the URL / search bar.

4. Confirm your browser is fully updated.

5. When Chrome updates, select Relaunch to apply the update and any changes are made.

6. Once Chrome has been updated, you can proceed to transmit to any of your Google Home or Chromecast devices.

Can all Google Home devices provide full functionality from a PC?

As stated before, the function of Google Home depends on the method you are using. When using the emulator, you will be able to use their full functionality. However, when using only the browser, there are some things you will not be able to do, such as setting them up for the first time.

Can Linux users use these methods?

The answer is yes! There are several Android emulators for operating systems based on Linux, such as GenyMotion, and Google Chrome that are also compatible with Linux.
