How to Enable and Use Lean Peek in PUBG Mobile

To lean around cover in PUBG Mobile, enable the game’s Peek controls, place the left and right peek buttons where you can reach them, and choose whether peeking should be held or toggled. The current menu is normally under Settings > Controls > Advanced Controls, although labels can move after an interface update.

Leaning reduces how much of the character leaves cover, but it does not make you invisible. Your head, shoulder and weapon can still be exposed, and repeated peeks from the same side are easy to predict.

Enable Peek controls

1. From the lobby, open Settings.
2. Select Controls, then open Advanced Controls or the section that contains Peek settings.
3. Turn on Peek or Peek & Fire.
4. Choose a peek mode: Tap, Hold, or Mixed, depending on the options in your version.
5. Decide whether Peek & Open Scope should be enabled. Test both settings before using the feature in a match.

Place the lean buttons

1. Open Customize Buttons or Customize Controls for the layout you use.
2. Move the left-lean and right-lean buttons near a finger that is not already overloaded with aiming, firing and movement.
3. Increase the button size or opacity until both controls are easy to distinguish.
4. Save the layout. Enter the Training Grounds and confirm that both directions work while standing and crouching.

On GameLoop, left and right peek are commonly mapped to Q and E. Check GameLoop’s current key map rather than assuming the defaults; custom layouts and updates can change them.

Should Peek & Open Scope be on?

With Peek & Open Scope enabled, a peek input also opens the selected sight. This is convenient for deliberate ranged shots. Disable it if you often lean for information without wanting to aim down sights, or if the automatic scope animation slows close-range movement.

Tap, Hold, or Mixed peek mode

• Tap: press once to lean and again to return. It requires less continuous finger pressure but can leave you exposed if you forget to cancel.
• Hold: remain leaned only while the button is pressed. It is fast to cancel, but demands a comfortable button position.
• Mixed: supports more than one input behavior. Use it only after you understand how short and long presses respond on your layout.

How to use leaning effectively

• Stand a small distance behind the edge of cover; pressing directly against a wall can block the weapon or sight.
• Change the height and side of the peek. Do not repeat the same rhythm after an opponent has seen it.
• Use a brief information peek before committing to a shot.
• Prefer the side that exposes less of the body, but remember that the camera perspective and cover shape affect the angle.
• Return fully to cover before healing or reloading.
• Move if the enemy has pre-aimed your corner or can use grenades to remove the cover advantage.

If the buttons do not appear

Confirm Peek is enabled for the active control preset, reopen Customize Controls, and reset only the affected layout if necessary. After an update, restart the game and check whether the setting moved to Advanced Controls. GameLoop users should also open the emulator key-mapping panel and restore the official PUBG Mobile scheme.
