How to open icons with one click on Windows 10
Double-clicking is the standard method for opening desktop icons in Windows. It helps prevent accidental opening of applications. However, some people may want to access files and applications with just one click. If you're one of those, here's how you can change this setting in Windows 10.
Enable open with one click in Windows 10
To change the default setting of opening files and folders from double click to one click, go to the Start menu . Search for File Explorer and then click the result when it appears or press Enter
.
In the window, go to View> Options> Change Folder and Search Options .

In the window that appears, select the ' Single-Click to Open an Item (Point to Select) ' button.
After you select this option, the icons will be underlined (like hyperlinks) when you hover over them. If you want the titles of your icons to be underlined all the time, select the ' Underline Icon Titles Consistent with My Browser ' button.

Now that you've enabled this setting, if you want to select an icon without opening it, just hover over it for a while.
You can also ask Windows to show a checkbox for each item to allow you to select it. To enable this option, click the View tab in the Folder Options pop-up window and scroll down to the Advanced Settings section . Click the checkbox next to Use Check Boxes to Select Items and then click OK.

These options increase efficiency and give you more flexibility when working on your Windows 10 device.
