QQ Speed is Tencent’s Chinese PC racing game, sometimes called Chinese Zing Speed by former ZingSpeed players. The game is still distributed through its official Chinese website, but the installer, account checks, and menus are primarily in Simplified Chinese. Use the official download center, avoid third-party installers, and expect Tencent account or regional verification requirements.
Before you begin: You need a Windows PC, enough free storage for the current client and updates, and a QQ account that Tencent accepts for the game. Account availability and real-name verification rules can vary by region. Do not buy accounts or submit identity information to unofficial sellers.
Download QQ Speed from the official site
- Open the official QQ Speed download center. If the layout has changed, start at
speed.qq.comand choose the client download section. - Select the complete Windows client or the downloader offered on the page. The small file may only be a launcher that retrieves the full game, so check the download page for the current space requirement.
- Save the installer, then scan it with Windows Security before running it. TipsMake’s guides to safe Windows download sources and the principles of installing Windows software explain why the developer’s site is the safest source.

Install the QQ Speed client
- Run the downloaded Tencent installer. If Windows asks for administrator permission, confirm only after checking that the publisher and file source are legitimate.
- Choose an installation folder with plenty of free space. Avoid a protected system folder and do not use a removable drive that may be disconnected.
- Start the download and leave the launcher open until all game files are verified. Download time depends on the current package size and your connection.
- When the full package opens, follow the setup wizard. The main action button normally advances to the next screen even when the interface is only in Chinese.
- Review every optional checkbox. Clear boxes for shortcuts or bundled components you do not want, then finish the installation.

The screenshots above show an older installer and are useful for orientation, but button positions and package details can change. Follow the labels and options shown by the current official client rather than relying on an old file size or download-time estimate.
Handle the Windows Firewall prompt carefully
QQ Speed needs network access for sign-in, updates, and online races. If Windows Defender Firewall displays a prompt, verify that it refers to the Tencent game client. Allow access on a trusted private network if required. Avoid enabling public-network access unless you understand why it is needed.

Sign in and launch the game
Open the launcher, let it install any patches, and choose the QQ sign-in option. Enter your account only in Tencent’s own client or official authentication page. If Tencent requests account protection, real-name verification, or a one-time code, complete it through the official account workflow. These checks cannot be bypassed safely.

Fix unreadable text or a locale-related startup error
Try the current client without changing Windows first. If an older non-Unicode component displays garbled text or produces a locale error, close the game and open Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Administrative > Change system locale. Select Chinese (Simplified, China), restart Windows, and test again.
This setting affects other non-Unicode programs, so change it only when necessary and note your original locale. On newer Windows versions, the launcher may work correctly without this step.
If the installer or launcher does not work
- Download a fresh copy from the official site instead of reusing an old installer.
- Check that the system drive and chosen game drive both have free space.
- Run Windows Update and update the graphics driver before troubleshooting game crashes.
- Remove any compatibility or VPN workaround copied from an old guide. Such workarounds can trigger security checks and do not solve account eligibility.
- If the client reports an account or regional restriction, consult Tencent support. Reinstalling the game will not change account policy.
Once the launcher completes its update and your QQ account is accepted, select the game start button. Because QQ Speed is a China-focused service, menus, support, events, and account rules may remain in Chinese even after a successful installation.
