In Windows 7, you can completely customize some features of the Taskbar such as changing the location, hiding or showing up, new pins or unpinning applications on the Taskbar, etc.
1. Change the position and hide / show the Taskbar
Step 1: Right-click an empty area on the Taskbar and select Properties .
Step 2: Customize the Taskbar as you like according to the instructions in the picture:
(1) Hide / unhide the Taskbar (tick to hide the Taskbar / unmark the Taskbar).
(2) The position of the Taskbar (below / left / right / top of the screen).
(3) Include windows of the same application or not (yes / only when Taskbar is full / not).
(4) Customize the icons and notifications to appear in the notification area.
Step 3: Click OK after having set up as desired.
2. Pin / unpin the application on the Taskbar
With the application or program running, right-click its icon on the Taskbar and select Pin this program to taskbar .
If the application is not active, you can find it in the Start Menu, right-click on it and select Pin to Taskbar .
To remove an application from the Taskbar, right-click its icon on the Taskbar and select Unpin this program from taskbar .
