Guide to creating animated character videos using Canva AI

Canva AI helps us create more professional content, especially for teachers to use in their teaching. In this article, you'll learn how to create animated character videos in Canva AI, adding more options for inserting videos into your teaching content.

 

How to create animated character videos in Canva

Step 1:

In Canva, click on Create , then select Video . We will choose landscape video to create our video.

Step 2:

In the next interface, select the "Components" option and then enter the keyword for the background you want to use to create the animated character video.

 

After inserting the background image into the video, right-click and select "Set image as background" .

Soon after, the video filled the entire width of the interface.

Step 3:

Next, upload the GIF image of the character you want to insert into the video. You can find character GIF files on Google in the transparent category as shown below. Click on the Tools section and then set the modes to search.

 

If the GIF has a background, click on the character and select "Remove background" at the top of the Canva toolbar.

You tap on the character, then select " Movement" to create movement effects for the character.

Step 4:

Next, select the "Create animation" option to proceed.

Press the Shift key , then drag a straight line from the character to the opposite screen , and release the mouse. You will now see a dashed blue line.

 

If you want to adjust the speed , use the Speed ​​slider to change it as you wish. Then adjust the Movement Style to get smoother character movement.

The result is a moving character video created in Canva, like the one below.
