Viruses transmitted from smartphones to computers appear in Vietnam

Malicious programs are often written to operate on a certain operating system, however, a newly discovered type of spyware (spyware) is attacking computers from mobile phones.

In early 2013, security experts warned of a multi-platform malware capable of running (both on Android and Windows) hidden in the DroidCleaner application on the Google Play repository. DroidCleaner is not a popular application, so it is considered as a non-widespread infection risk.

However, the virus surveillance system of Bkav Security Company has just discovered the first spread of this virus in Vietnam and warned that connecting the phone to the computer is now no longer safe.

First, malicious code hidden in applications like DroidCleaner or SuperClean will infect Android-powered smartphones. After penetrating into the phone, it can automatically send and delete SMS messages, enable Wi-Fi, gather information about the device, open arbitrary links on the browser, post all contents in the card. SD, SMS, contacts, photos . on the worm's server.

The path of malicious code.

Not only that, malicious code continues to download the code that can be spread on the computer as autorun files and other executable files. Just waiting for the user to connect the two devices, the virus will invade from the smartphone to a computer running Windows if the system turns on autorun mode, or when the user activates the file during the opening of the folder. Here, malware targets voice chat software like Skype, Yahoo Messenger to record conversations and send to hackers.

The appearance of this virus shows that even simple things like connecting your phone or your friends to your computer to charge or share data is now dangerous. Security experts recommend that, to protect against threats, users need to install antivirus software on both mobile and computer platforms.

Previously, according to the survey results conducted by Bkav in April 2013, the damage caused by computer viruses in Vietnam each year reached nearly VND 8 trillion.
