If you don't have Skype, you can download Skype and install it here.

1. Block source ads application through Internet Explorer

1. Open Control Panel.

2. On the Control Panel window, select Network and Internet => Internet Options .

3. Next on the Internet Options window, navigate to the Security tab.

4. Click the Restricted sites icon, then click the Site button as shown below:

5. Now the Restricted sites dialog box appears.

Here you enter the following command into the Add this website to the zone box , then click the Add button:

https://apps.skype.com/

6. Close the Internet Options window and restart Skype on your computer.

2. Block Server Ads through Hosts file on Windows

1. Open Command Prompt under Admin.

2. On the Command Promot window enter the following command to open the Hosts file:

notepad c: windowssystem32driversetchosts

3. Next enter the following command into the Hosts file:

127.0.0.1 ads1.msn.com

127.0.0.1 static.2mdn.net

127.0.0.1 g.msn.com

127.0.0.1 bs.serving-sys.com

127.0.0.1 db3aqu.atdmt.com

127.0.0.1 cds26.ams9.msecn.net

Finally, save the Hosts file and then restart your Skype application.

This method not only blocks ads on Skype but also blocks ads on other Microsoft software such as Office Starter.

3. Downgrade Skype

1. Remove the current version of Skype 6.10.

Go to Start Up> Control Panel> Uninstall Program . Find Skype version 6.10 and uninstall.

2. Next, go to Google to search Skype 6.9 and download and install or go to oldapps.com and find the previous version of Skype to download and install.

After you have downloaded and installed the Skype application, every time you sign in to Skype, there are a few messages that require you to upgrade the Skype version. You just need to choose Not Now .
