A mysterious rock drill was suddenly found in a stone tomb dating to about 7,500 years old in a prehistoric village in Bursa province in northwestern Turkey.

This ancient tool was suddenly found in an Aktopraklık settlement in Nilüfer district of Bursa, where civilization once flourished in 8,500 years ago - according to Anadolu Agency.

Previously, there were many similar archaeological excavations that were discovered in Aktopraklık Settlement beginning in 2004 and many of them have been exhibited at the Aktopraklık Archaeopark Settlement Museum.

Professor Necmi Karul of the University of Istanbul Archeology Department, who is also the excavation team leader at Aktoprak, said that he and the archaeological team have found many fire rocks around different areas in Anatolia.

Karul said: " We believe that sharp stones can be created by a drilling process through an unexpected rock drill found in an ancient stone tomb. "

Typically, a decorative piece made of seed found in Aktopraklık could be said to be drilled by the newly found rock drill tool.

It may be evidence of a labor tool of the 7th century BC, during the Neolithic period and the Chalcolithic period.
