The 15-year-old student became the world champion Microsoft Excel
We have seen many teenagers win the world in many game competitions, but for 15-year-old Kevin Dimaculangan, it's not Street Fighter or Overwatch, but Microsoft Excel.
Perhaps many people are unaware of the annual Microsoft World Specialist World Championship (Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship) competition.According to CNN, the contest was attended by 760,000 applicants from around the world, wishing to win a $ 7000 prize in each category.
Students aged 13 to 22 after passing local and national competitions will join together in Orlando, Florida, where 152 competitors from 51 countries compete.Participants will choose versions of Word, PowerPoint or Excel 2013 and 2016, meaning that there will be 6 champions.
The student at Dunbar High School in Lee County, Florida, Kevin won several awards in Microsoft product contests through the Technology Excellence program.
Kevin is the only American to win a championship in 6 categories
The competition requires participants to create Excel files from a data set, the winner is the one who makes the most accurate version.'Time doesn't matter because many people can't get it done,' he told CNN.'It is important to be accurate'.Not only good at Excel, he also has some other talents like math and piano.
Kevin is also the only American to win the prize in all 6 categories of the competition.There has been a job offer but Kevin said he will focus on studying and earning more certificates.Once you have mastered Excel, you may switch to Word or PowerPoint.
