Skype has a new update with support for group call scheduling and dark background
Earlier this month, Microsoft released a new update for Skype Insiders that brought support for group call scheduling. After half a month, the same update has already rolled out to everyone. Thus, the latest version of Skype at the present time will be v8.52.
- Snip and Sketch tool Windows 10 has been updated to the new version with many noticeable changes
Skype is currently in the latest v8.52 version
In addition to group call scheduling, the new version of Skype also offers support for dark background on both Android and iOS. In addition, this update also comes with more flexible support for drag and drop operations, making it easier for you to add more users to the call.
Let's take a look at some changes on Skype version v8.52 described by Microsoft as follows:
Skype for Windows, Mac, Linux and Web:
- Share contact: Want to share a contact with other people, or simply want to add someone to a conversation? In Skype for the new desktop version, you can simply drag and drop that contact from the contact list into a conversation. In addition, you will be able to add or share your contact with that conversation as you like.
- Schedule calls for groups: Have you used the call scheduling feature in 1: 1 chats? Now you can also use this feature for a large group chat. You can now list all participants in the group to schedule a time for a call.

In addition, if the device's operating system is being set in a dark background, Skype will also be set to automatically in the dark, providing greater synchronization with the operating system.

The Skype v8.52 update is currently rolling out to both Android and iOS and as always, Microsoft will release it in batches to test user feedback.
