Online accounts on Instagram will have a green dot next to the avatar
Instagram is a Facebook social network so it is understandable that this application is updated with new features like the world's largest social networking site. And recently, the application has been updated with a new feature to help users know who is online. A green dot will appear in the lower left corner of the representative image of the accounts that are online and using the application.
You will see this blue dot in Instagram Direct or your friends list to identify which friends are online to chat.
Instagram said, this new feature will help users to chat with friends via Instagram Direct rather than using Messenger or WhatsApp as before.
However, users can only see this green dot for accounts that have been chatting with you or accounts that follow you. Users can also choose to disable this feature by manipulating the same way to turn off chat on Facebook Messenger.
