One more way to fix a crashed Outlook, no response or inactivity
If Outlook on your Windows 10/8/7 computer fails, it will not respond (not responding) or hang. Here are some solutions to fix these errors.
Outlook error unresponsive (Not Responding)
1. Run Outlook in Safe Mode without add-ins.
To do this, first press the Windows + R key combination to open the Run dialog window, then enter outlook / safe in the Run dialog box and press Enter. If Outlook does not provide any problems, chances are that one of the add-ins you create has a problem. See all the add-ins you have installed and disable those add-ins to fix the errors.
2. Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration for Outlook
To disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration Outlook, open the Outlook application => File => Options => Mail => Compose messages => Editor Options button => Advanced.
Here, under the Display section, you select the item Disable hardware graphics acceleration and click OK / Apply then select Exit. Next, restart your Outlook.
If there are any problems, it may be due to a video driver error. In this case, you only need to update the driver and check if there is an error.
Note: It is important to know that when you disable Hardware Acceleration for Outlook, all Office programs will be disabled.
3. At some point Outlook may be "busy" performing other processes, such as syncing with your mail, . Outlook may respond slowly. In this case you can wait for Outlook to complete the process.
4. If Outlook data is too big, it may cause a temporary "freeze" error, such as when you open an email or a data folder on Outlook that takes too much time.
The Outlook data file can be either Personal folder or Offline folder file. In this case, you can delete unused emails to reduce the size and make sure that the automatic archiving of old mail in Outlook is enabled.
5. In addition, Micorsoft also provides the Inbox Repair Tool as well as Fix It, which allows users to restore folders and items from corrupted .pst or Personal Folders files. And even these tools can recover items from the Offline Folder file or .ost file.
The OST Integrity Check Tool helps to fix corrupted .ost files. Use Inbox Repair Tool or Scanpst.exe to fix and customize Outlook data.
