Microsoft fixes Gadget on Windows 7 and Vista
The company temporarily disables this entire tool to prevent users' computers from being exploited for errors and taking control.
The "software giant" has warned users about Gadget tools on Windows Vista and Windows 7 that could be exploited by hackers to hijack end-users' machines. The company had to release a patch to temporarily disable the tool completely.

Representatives of the " software giant" said that if they successfully exploit the vulnerability in the Gadget tool, hackers can run arbitrary code in all usage scenarios. If the user accesses the computer with an account with administrative rights, the attacker can thus control the entire system. However, before breaking into the machine, these people must " convince" the victim to install and activate the vulnerable Gadget tools.
According to Arstechnica, Microsoft's website has made clear, utility tools installed from untrusted sources can damage users' computers and data. They can disrupt their master's command at any time. Currently, software manufacturers still do not have any long-term plans to overcome this situation.
Gadget is a utility application provided by Microsoft with utilities to compete with Dashboard on Apple's OS X. Thanks to Gadget, users can add a number of applications such as watches, stickers or other small software right on the desktop.
