These laptops also have one feature: Instead of using the widescreen 16:10 aspect ratio, they use the aspect ratio to the standard of plastic film format and HDTV high definition television, 16: 9. This is also an easy-to-understand change, because today computers and television sets (TV) are almost two interrelated individuals.

Specifically, the TV screen can be a monitor for the computer and vice versa, the computer can fully assume the function of the TV. This is also because many HDTV monitor manufacturers are also famous laptop makers; and laptop screens are also produced from the same factory as the TV and built at the same factory, same technology.

However, viewing text and web content with a widescreen format screen is a different story. There is some controversy about the advantages and uncertainties when using this screen. For example, viewing pages of text or websites is usually up and down and the presentation is also vertical. On the other hand, most of the image sizes are 4: 3 and if you want to see this image on rectangular screens you have to minimize the image to see it all.

On the positive side, however, the wide screen allows for easy viewing of text pages that span horizontally with multiple sub-pages (sheets) or open multiple applications simultaneously, that is, to cover more content. .

Perhaps the most interesting thing is, even though the aforementioned widescreen laptops - will be available later this year - have a larger screen size but you don't have to hook it up. Specifically, their selling price is only equivalent to the smaller size models launched last year.

The product also has an HDMI port to connect to a large external HDTV screen. The Aspire 6920G-6071 also has a fairly long battery life, removable nVidia graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The weakness of the product is its monotonous design and lack of FireWire connectivity.

Sony Vaio VGN-FW198UH ($ 2,099)

Use Intel's new Centrino 2 platform and a crisp widescreen like silver screen, but Sony's 16-inch laptop is complaining about its short battery life and still great price. Other advantages of the product include the integrated Blu-ray drive, 4GB DDR3 RAM, a lightweight body and a comfortable keyboard.
