MSI Wind U100 screen is wide but not fast

This netbook is fascinated by its sleek design, more comfortable space for both keyboard and screen. Compared to similar products using Atom chips, the device has a lower price, but the performance is not perfect.

Once released, the MSI Wind U100 creates a wave of competition with the "elder" Eee PC 901 thanks to a lower price of about $ 120. Compared to the U100, Asus Eee PC is more expensive thanks to its SSD hard drive, higher capacity battery - continuous operation for more than 3 hours.

MSI Wind wears a pearl white "shirt" but not as shiny as the MacBook, next to black and pink.

Compared to the early netbooks, the products are more solid and no longer like "toys". With the MSI Wind, users feel confident because of the sturdy body, despite the same thickness. The U100's screen is about 1.1 inches wider than the Eee PC 901.

The keyboard layout space is comfortable, but the Backspace and Shift keys compared to some other keys are unbalanced. But overall, the cramped feeling of using the netbook's keyboard has decreased. Those who have used the Eee PC 901 will find the difference in the Wind U100 - the Eee PC 901's entertainment key sequence on the top edge of Wind is the power button.

Although larger in size, the Wind's LCD screen has the same 1,024x600 pixel resolution with the Eee PC 901. This number provides sufficient support for web browsing without scrolling across the entire page. However, watching high-resolution movies is quite limited. In addition, it doesn't lack a 1.3 Megapixel webcam.

A microphone at the right corner of the screen is convenient for talking pictures. The stereo stereo speakers come with a fairly small pronunciation, so headphones seem to be a more efficient choice when listening to music or watching movies.

This netbook supports Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity with shortcuts. In addition, when the F11 key is pressed, the machine will switch to battery saving mode. U100 also supports universal memory cards, such as SD, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro.

The 3-cell battery that comes with the device is quite limited because the 10-inch screen and HDD are both more energy-efficient than the other 9-inch netbooks that use SSDs.

Despite the similar configuration of the Eee PC 901 and almost twice as high as the 701, the actual performance of MSI Wind is not as expected. Testing multitasking with the Eee PC 901, Wind costs nearly twice the time it takes to perform the same tasks. This can be explained when Asus netbooks use SSDs with higher read speeds, and onboard graphics chip supports up to 128 MB while U100 is only 64 MB. However, compared to VIA line processor at HP 2133, Atom still has a lot more advantage.

Advantages:
