A group of Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers (MIT) worked with NASA to bring broadband to the Moon. With the use of four different laser beams and optical fibers to create the Internet with an average connection of 19.44 Mbps.
The broadband network ofcom reckons at Ahh only reached 18 Mbps and 12 Mbps in rural areas. At this rate, the Internet at the Moon is better than some places in the UK, something that sounds incredible.
Not only that, the signal sent to the Moon reached an incredible 622 Mbps, 4800 more than the record of radio waves. NASA will announce and explain this technology in detail at a meeting in early June.
