Instructions on how to remove the cooling fan of the standard CPU LGA775

The cooling fan is a part that helps keep the CPU's temperature stable when the computer is operating. After a period of use, if this part is damaged and does not work well, it will cause the CPU to overheat, resulting in the computer slow down or stop working (hanging). The fan must be removed to repair or replace the cooling fan. This article will show you how to remove the cooling fan of the LGA775 standard CPU.

How to remove the cooling fan of the standard CPU LGA775

Unplug the fan control wire from the docking station on the motherboard with the symbol  CPU_FAN .

In some cases, the fan is stuck to the back of the CPU due to the heatsink, the fan can be rotated slightly to help remove it easily.

After removing the fan, you must rotate the locking pins clockwise to restore these locking pins to their original position, then you can install the fan again later.
