How to turn off the Gatekeeper on macOS Sierra install the application outside the App Store
In the process of using, the need to install external applications on the Mac is understandable. With a Mac, being able to install a third application is not as easy as when we installed the app on the App Store. You can turn on the Anywhere option in System Preferences in the Security & Privacy section to install the 3rd party application. However, when upgrading to macOS Sierra version 10.12, that option is hidden, making the application install. external to Mac is difficult.
In this article, we will show you how to install an external application on macOS Sierra 10.12. Specifically, disable the Gatekeeper on your Mac, redisplay the Anywhere option on your device.
Step 1:
At the main interface of the device, we click on LauchPad as shown below.
Step 2:
Next, type the keyword Terminal into the search bar and click on the search result.
Step 3:
At the command prompt, enter the command line below and press Enter :
sudo spctl --master-disable
Step 4:
Next step, enter your computer password if required and press Enter. Check if the command line has been applied by entering the following command line into:
spctl --status
If the interface appears as shown below, the command has been executed.
Step 5:
Go back to the machine interface and access Security & Privacy . You will see that Anywhere appears at the bottom.
In addition, if the user has no need and no need to display Anywhere, just enter the following command line into Termminal only:
sudo spctl --master-enable
Thus, the Anywhere option appears again in System Preferences. You can easily install any external applications on your Mac without any other problems.
