Guide to playing GrandChase for newbies
1. Character upgrade system
- Hero upgrade: The characters do not receive experience points and level up when you complete the level, win the battle. You will have to farm monster cards (Monster Cards) from daily levels and quests to upgrade your character.
- Evolve system: Once you reach the maximum upgrade (+12), you will have to evolve your character using Evostones evolution stones, which can only be obtained from the Daily Defense mode or as a quest reward service. Evolved characters will have 1 new gold star and up to 6 gold stars.
- Awakening and Prestige system: Once a character hits the 6 gold star mark, you can unlock the Prestige level for that character and be upgraded using Prestige points, obtained through daily quests, exchange in the store and sell characters you don't need. In addition, each character can "awaken" when they reach maximum evolution (6 gold stars) and max level upgrade (+12). To awaken your character, you need a character of the same type or a Splendid Shiny of the same type. When awakened, selected characters will have 1 pink star and increase basic combat power.

GrandChase has many different currencies, but here are the 2 main ones:
Gold: Used for things like character upgrades and equipment.
- Gems: Premium currency that you can buy with real money, use to summon heroes and buy items from the store.
