How to block keywords, users and hashtags on Twitter
Twitter is a great place to post announcements and connect with others. Lots of comments and topics clogging up your feed. Fortunately, there is a way to block certain topics.
There are other reasons you might want to block something. Perhaps you are not interested in any trending topics that people are interested in. Or, someone you follow is praising something that bothers you, but you don't want to block them. Either way, here's how to block keywords, users, hashtags and threads from the timeline and Twitter notifications.
Block keywords and hashtags from Twitter's timeline
Launch Twitter and go to Settings> Notifications> Muted> Muted words . Or, to make it easier, just go to the following link:
https://twitter.com/settings/muted_keywords
This is where you can add words to block. Just click or touch the + icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Next, enter the subject you do not want to appear in your timeline. Here, you can also block a word, entire phrase, hashtag or handle someone's Twitter. For example, here I don't want to see spoilers (spoilers) for the new Star Wars movie.
You can also choose where to block the object, including timeline and notifications. Select the time period, phrase, user or hashtag you want to block in the 'Mute timing' section. You can choose from 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or Forever . When done, click Save.
An important thing to note is that once you block something at the Twitter platform level, it will also be blocked on other platforms and applications.
Streamline your Twitter feed
This is a great way to streamline feeds. It allows you to get only the information you care about most. Blocking keywords, users and hashtags can eliminate distractions you don't need or want to see.
