Group Session: A new feature on Spotify that allows users to listen to music together
Spotify, one of the world's largest music streaming platforms, has just launched an extremely useful new feature called 'Group Session' for Premium users (paid subscription packages), including cases where Users have the same Spotify Premium Family account.
Basically, Group Session allows 2 or more users in the same physical space to share control of the playlist being played. Members in a Group Session can create playlists (playlists) and optionally add or remove songs in the queue they have chosen. Currently, the Group Session feature is still in beta testing, but Spotify Premium account owners worldwide have access and trial today.
Group SessionOf course, Group Session is not limited to just 2 people, according to Techcrunch, this feature can support up to 100 users at the same time but they must be in the same physical space, so there won't be much. Group Session with such a large scale.
How to use the Group Session feature
The person who activates Group Session will be the host. To become a host, follow these steps:
1. Click the Now playing bar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Click the connection icon
3. Find the sharing code in the Start a group session section
People who want to participate in your Group Session scan the shared code only by:
- Click on SCAN TO JOIN.
- Point the device camera at the sharing code.
When an individual performs any operation with the playlist currently playing in the Group Session, any changes will be notified to all other members of the group.
If you want to leave a Group Session, simply press the LEAVE SESSION button displayed at the bottom of the screen. For hosts, press END SESSION to end a Group Session.
Due to the beta version, the Group Session feature will be tested and refined a lot in the future based on actual feedback from users.
