What does Google Lens bring to YouTube Shorts?
Google announced a new beta that adds Google Lens to YouTube Shorts on iOS and Android.
Google announced a new beta version with the feature of adding Google Lens in YouTube Shorts on iOS and Android. Accordingly, viewers can pause the YouTube Short video with the video containing the location or place they need more information about and then tap the Google Lens icon. The Lens application now works and selects the objects or locations in the video you are pausing to display information about the selected content.
For example, if a Short video shows a famous building, you can identify it and learn about its history without leaving the app. Additionally, the translate button is also available when Lens is activated in a YouTube Short video.
Google adds, "During the beta period of using Google Lens in YouTube Shorts, you won't see ads appear in search results. Additionally, the Lens experience isn't available for Shorts videos that have YouTube Shopping affiliate links or feature paid product promotions.
YouTube has been working hard to make Shorts more prominent over the past few months, especially in its TV app, so it's no surprise that more and more features are being released specifically for the short-form video platform.
The Google Lens feature will start rolling out this week and will gradually roll out to more users around the world to experience.
