Fix the 'confusing' space for the image on the iPhone
One notification that annoys many iPhone users is iCloud Storage Full, which prevents cloud backup and uploading your photos to the cloud from being able to do so. The solution of most users when this is the case is to clean up unnecessary photos and videos that are still stored in the Photos app, however sometimes your iCloud storage and iPhone storage can still show that Images are still taking up the majority of the space, even after deleting them. The fix is as follows.
Check Recently Deleted folder
Deleted photos will be moved to Recently Deleted folder, like the Recyble Bin trash can on Windows. You must delete all the pictures and videos in this folder before you can completely free up memory for your device.
Try double-checking if you've completely deleted photos from Recently Deleted folder.
Restart iPhone
Rebooting the system is a common fix for many problems on the iPhone. After you delete a large amount of photos and videos from memory, it's important to restart your iPhone. This will probably remove any temporary glitches that cause your available memory to display incorrectly.
Edit the date to show old photos
The exact cause behind this fix isn't clear, but it usually happens when what you previously deleted returns as a hidden file on your device. You won't know they exist, and you won't be able to see them in your Camera Roll either.
Ways to overcome this situation:
• Go to Settings> General> Date & Time.
• If you see Set Automatically is on, turn it off.
• You can then change the date and time manually. Pick a period at least a year ago.
• Once done return to your photo library, visit Recently Deleted folder and delete any leftover photos inside. If you don't see it, change the timeline to 2 or 3 years ago to check again.

Turn off iCloud Sync
iCloud Photos lets you upload your iPhone photos to iCloud automatically. While this is convenient and a good way to protect your photos, it can also result in your photos taking up too much space in iCloud.
As a temporary fix to fix the problem, you can disable iCloud Photos for a while. This will prevent your photos from syncing and taking up more space, which will hopefully solve the problem.
Go to Settings, click your Apple ID at the top of the list, and go to iCloud> Photos. Turn off 2 options iCloud Photos and Upload to My Photo Stream.
Optimize storage for Photos app
If images are always taking up too much space on iPhone storage, the optimization will help. This causes your iPhone to decrease the resolution of photos stored in the Photos library, but still keep a full resolution copy on iCloud.
Turn on the option to optimize storage space in your Photos library
• To do this, go to Settings> Photos.
• Next, check the line Optimize Phone Storage.
