Fix repeated boot errors after updating Android 8.0 on Samsung Galaxy S8
Earlier this month, after a few weeks of beta testing, Samsung began rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo and Samsung Experience 9.0 versions for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. However, the update stopped shortly after that because some users reported bootloop errors. The update fixes the repeated boot error (bootloop) that is being developed, but if you've missed installing an error update Oreo and your phone is having trouble booting, here are some tips and tips. Tips to help you fix the problem above.
What is going on with your phone? Bootloop is a phenomenon that your phone constantly starts automatically. If you see the manufacturer logo on the phone screen, then the Android system automatically loads, but the loading process suddenly fails and restarts itself until your phone runs out of battery, then there is an electrical meaning. Your phone is having the bootloop error.
What to do when your phone has a boot error repeating bootloop?
Usually, when encountering this problem, we often call customer care and describe the problem. After that, they will ask you to send the phone to the nearest service center. This may not be necessary if you follow some of the following tips. Android has built-in ways to solve problems like this, it is called Recovery Mode . Now we will learn step by step to take advantage of this mode.
Note : Sometimes bootloop errors can prevent you from accessing Recovery Mode. Don't worry, you still have a way to do this. If you cannot turn off the device, wait for the battery to run out, then plug in the charger. You will then be able to access Recovery Mode according to the following steps:
Clear the cache with Android's Recovery Mode
Android phones have their own Recovery Mode, which allows you to perform some basic functions such as clearing the cache partition. To enter recovery mode, follow these steps:
- Turn off the phone
- Simultaneously press the 2 Bixby buttons and the Volume boost button then holds both
- Then press the Power button and hold it
- Keep all three buttons until the words " Samsung Galaxy S8 " or " Samsung Galaxy S8 +" appear on the screen
- Take your hands off the 3 buttons
- The screen shows the words " Installing system update " in seconds
- Next is the words " No command " in seconds before switching to Android Restore mode
- After entering Recovery Mode, use the up and down keys to go to the " Wipe cache partition " section.
- Select and confirm this option with the Power button, then your phone will restart
If this does not work, switch to the next option, which is also available in Recovery Mode.
Delete data and restore original settings using Restore mode
Before performing this step, you should back up the data in the device. But if your phone encounters a bootloop error, unfortunately you cannot back up the data and all data on the internal memory will be lost.
- Turn off the phone
- Simultaneously press 2 Bixby buttons and volume up button, then hold both
- Then press the Power button and hold it
- Keep all three buttons until the words " Samsung Galaxy S8 " or " Samsung Galaxy S8 +" appear on the screen
- Take your hands off the 3 buttons
- The screen shows the words " Installing system update " in seconds
- Next is the words " No command " in seconds before switching to Android Restore mode
- After you have entered Restore mode, use the volume up and down keys to go to " Wipe Data / factory reset "
- Select this option with the Power button
- After receiving a warning it will delete the data in your phone, select " Yes " with the Volume button and press the Power button to confirm
- The phone will restart
You will get rid of the bootloop error using the steps above. Although you will have to set up the settings from scratch, you can still use Galaxy S8 or S8 +. If the problem is still not resolved, you should contact Samsung.
