A global study by cybersecurity group McAfee ranked Singapore's websites ranked 10/104 among websites most at risk of being exposed to viruses when accessed.

Network security expert Aloysius Cheang said: ' This will reduce confidence and the possibility that Singapore can build a platform for e-commerce .' Mr. Cheang points out that Singapore's network is very deeply connected to the global network. Domain registration in Singapore usually takes only 5 minutes of transactions.
McAfee surveyed through 17,630 websites found that about 9% (1,607 websites) were marked as dangerous. In 2008, this figure was only 0.3%.
