Discover Weekly Spotify Turns 10 With Some Big Improvements

Discover Weekly Spotify is a personalized playlist that is automatically created every Monday. Spotify recommends these songs based on each user's listening habits and preferences. Spotify creates different playlists every week, and Discover Weekly was the first when it launched in 2015.

And after 10 years of being on Spotify, Discover Weekly Spotify is getting some changes.

First up is the visual refresh, with a new interface pattern that Spotify says reflects the ever-changing and dynamic nature of weekly music discovery. But far more interesting than the new interface is the option to curate Discover Weekly playlists by genre.

When you open Discover Weekly from the Made for You hub, you'll still see the default 30-song playlist. However, you'll now also see a list of five genres above the songs, allowing you to customize the playlist to your liking. This change means you now have six separate Discover Weekly playlists to explore each week, making for a much richer music discovery experience.
