Cisco launched the fifth generation UCS server
New Cisco UCS servers have been released, thanks to the help of Storage Review. Early signs indicate that Cisco seems to be cutting its blade server product line.

Cisco has not yet released any official announcement but we hope to receive information in the next few hours.
All of these M5 generation servers use Xeon SP CPUs, but at the moment there is no detailed information yet, because Intel has not disclosed the list of processors yet.
There are two blade servers, B200 M5 is a half-width 2-socket server with up to 2 Nvidia P6 GPUs. It will replace the M4 version of B200.
The B480 M5 is a 4-socket blade server and can replace B460 and M4 B420 servers (4-socket, full-width).
Cisco announced three new rack servers:
- The C220 M5 2-socket server will replace the C220 M4 (1U / 2-socket server).
- C240 M5 2-socket storage and server will replace C240 M4 2U / 2-socket server.
- The C480 M5 module server will replace server C460- M4 4U / 4-socket.
The C480 M5 supports up to six AMD S7150 x2 graphics chips or Nvidia Tesla P40 and Tesla P100 GPUs, along with the number of drives up to 32.
These UCS M5 servers have twice the caching of the M4 precursor and perform up to 86% faster.
There is currently no information about the M5 version of the S3260 M4 storage server. Follow TipsMake.com for the latest information!
