Apple transferred management rights to iCloud in China to local companies

Apple has just announced that it will transfer the right to operate iCloud service on the Chinese market to a local company to comply with its laws.

They have informed users about this change, and allow those who disagree to delete the iCloud account. 'After 28/2/2018, you will need to approve the iCloud service terms provided by Guizhou-Cloud Big Data Industry Co Ltd (GCBD) to use iCloud in China,' Apple said.

The Chinese government runs local companies

The company mentioned above is under the administration of Guizhou county government. Apple takes this action to comply with the rule that all Chinese users' data must be stored in their country. Apple has spent nearly $ 1 billion to build a new data center located in Guizhou, which stores all the information on the iCloud account of Chinese users.

GCBD will start managing and operating this archive from February 28, 2018. Apple still has access to data. All iCloud accounts in China or part of setting up China use area are in this category.
