Apple ID accounts are used by Chinese hackers to steal money
Alipay and WeChat Pay, China's two largest digital payment services, recently issued a warning to users that Apple ID may be hacked by hackers to buy goods with their accounts.
After stealing the user's Apple ID, hackers will log in and use them to make purchases through payment methods such as Alipay and WeChat Pay.
It is unclear how many Apple ID accounts are being used to steal money, but according to Chinese media, the damage is about 2,000 yuan (about 290 USD).
Both Alipay and Tencent, which owns WeChat Pay, have repeatedly contacted Apple to report on the issue, but are still unresolved. Therefore, hackers can easily attack when users link Apple ID with Alipay, WePay, credit card or any other payment method.
To this end, Apple only made recommendations to users that it is advisable to set a high difficulty password and activate two-factor authentication to secure their account.
