The best features on iOS 12 that Apple did not officially announce on WWDC stage
Apple often never mentions any changes / additions on the new iOS version at the annual WWDC event stage, because of limited time. Sometimes they will list a long list on the slide after the vice president Craig Federighi presented the important points. But this year is not.
Fortunately, they have put it all on the website, and these are the best new features on iOS 12 that you should know.
Smoother effect
Federighi mentioned applications that opened faster, turned on the camera faster, the keyboard appeared faster, but in general, iOS 12 had faster effects. 'When you open the Control Center, swipe to open the multitasking or when scrolling the page in the application, all will be smooth and responsive.'
Gestures with iPhone X on the iPad
The feeling will be more uniform when you use iPhone X and iPad because Apple brings some iPhone X gesture manipulations to the tablet: swipe from the top right corner to open the Control Center, swipe from anywhere on dock to open Home.
This is also a preparation for the future iPad Pro with Face ID and no Home button.
Automatically fill in the disposable SMS password
With the new update, users do not need to switch to Message to copy - paste the 2-factor authentication code. iOS 12 will identify when the code is sent and suggest autofill. It is better to use applications like Google Authenticator or Authy, but it is more convenient to use SMS.
A lot of new changes / updates are useful on iOS 12
Enter the password from the 3rd party password management tool
If enabled, iOS 12 will display passwords from password management applications like 1Password and Last Pass right in QuickType suggestions using Password Manager API.
Share passwords with nearby iOS and Mac devices
With iOS, Apple allows easy access to passwords on iOS devices but Mac does not exist and vice versa. It is possible to copy - paste between platforms with Continuity but it will take several steps. Apple has also allowed sharing WiFi passwords in the same way.
Strong password, password alert used
iOS 12 helps create unique and strong passwords for applications to save to iCloud Keychain, later easily accessible and filled. This feature has been included in Safari but Apple now extends to other applications. iOS 12 also warns if you reuse the password you used elsewhere, to make changes and make sure each application uses its own password.
Siri can help find the password
Apple said Siri will quickly display a specific password when you request on iOS 12.
Siri knows interesting facts about celebrities, food, and sports
Apple extends Siri's knowledge with information about celebrities, motorbike-related sports and food. You can ask the virtual assistant about the amount of calories of food or common questions like eating fish well .
Important Alerts can pass Do Not Disturb
iOS 12 introduces 'important warnings' that users must turn on. This warning will display the message even if you have enabled Do Not Disturb mode. Apple, for example, needs to send an urgent message to health care providers.
Better RAW image support
Apple is still gradually getting better iOS support and image editing and iOS 12 continues this. New updates allow users to 'import and manage RAW photos on iPhone and iPad and edit on iPad Pro'. Some are available on iOS 11, but I hope to clearly split RAW and JPG versions, edit right away on Photos.
