Apple fixes Toshiba SSD errors on MacBook Air 2012
Apple recently released a MacBook Air Flash Storage Update 1.1 update that fixes SSDs (64 GB and 128 GB versions) for MacBook Air 2012 machines.
Apple recently released a MacBook Air Flash Storage Update 1.1 update that fixes SSDs (64 GB and 128 GB versions) for MacBook Air 2012 machines.
Earlier, it seemed that Apple had discovered that some MacBook Air launched last year had problems and lost user data. If you own a MacBook Air model as above, you can try installing the update. After installation, the update will conduct a test with the SSD on the machine, and update the firmware for the hard drive.
If your hard drive fails during a test, Apple adds a MacBook Air Flash Storage Drive Replacement Program to help you replace another SSD. The program is applicable for MacBook Air 2012 machines or not. (Apple sells the MacBook Air 2012 from June last year to June this year). You are responsible for backing up and restoring data before and after the drive replacement process.
Apple did not specifically announce which model of the hard drive caused the error, as well as the specific error. However, when viewing the code in the update package, the update for Toshiba SSDs is 64 GB and 128 GB. Apple often uses different brands of SSDs for different shipments, so if you own a MacBook Air 2012 and use a Samsung SSD, that update won't work.
