A fake email Apple Store offers free iPhone 5S
According to Trend Micro on November 14, hackers used fake emails claiming to be Apple Store's announcement that email recipients will be given free iPhone 5S and iPad Air when clicking on links in emails.
When clicking on this link, the user will be required to report personal information and also information related to the online bank card. If the declaration is made, the risk of losing personal data is very high.
Experts from Trend Micro said that this attack method is also called Social Engineering ( attack method based on a lack of understanding of user technology ). Accordingly, Trend Micro's global security system has identified these phishing emails that are targeting many different areas, especially in Southeast Asia.
Social Engineering tricks in one way or another will trick users into forgetting the simple rule: " What sounds so good, it won't be true ".
