A recent study by Forrester Research found that 87% of professional business people still use handwritten notes alongside digital communication tools when working. In addition, 37% of respondents regularly use handwritten copies to create a memorandum to remind them of what to do.

The study concludes that the combination of handwritten notes and digital communications makes the efficiency of workflows and productivity more significant. 47% of respondents said that making better handwritten notes will help them improve personal tasks and how they make important decisions.

The reason behind this fact is the existence from the first origin of the script which is hieroglyphic. Each person's handwriting is like their fingerprint, which is unique and highly personalized.

Originating from Greek, ' grapho ' means ' writing ', and ' logos ' means ' word ', graphology has long been known as the science of studying the relation between writing hand with the expression of personality, personality and ability of each person. There are also people who think this science is not accurate. But in fact, the value of the individualized script can give very different types of information, just like voice analysis in conversations.

Even handwriting can bring other benefits to writers. Many researchers believe that the simple actions of hands when creating characters and words, symbols on the page will increase the ability to recall information. In the meantime, no research has confirmed whether implementing similar movements on digital devices can yield the same benefits as handwriting.

That means, handwriting may never be lost. However, it is likely that the type of pen we use in the future may be a digital pen.

How about you? Are you using electronic devices too often? Do you think the typing notes on your computer may be remembered longer than writing them on paper yourself?
