The world's fastest badminton shot is 565 km/h, faster than a Formula 1 car
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, an Indian-born badminton player, has a shot that makes it fly at an unbelievable speed, up to 565 km/h, breaking the Guinness record that stood for 10 years.
If you don't know, the fastest tennis shot is only 263 km/h and the highest recorded speed of a Formula 1 car is 397.48 km/h.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy set the world record for the fastest badminton shot by a player on April 14, 2023, breaking the previous record of 493 km/h, set by Malaysian badminton player, Mr. Tan Boon Heong.
Malaysian athlete Pearly Tan, with a shuttle speed of 438 km/h, set a women's record.
Two athletes Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Pearly Tan set the record in strictly controlled conditions, performed at the Yonex Tokyo Factory located in Soka, Saitama, Japan.
