According to Pham Anh Chien, Deputy General Director of Indochina Telecom, although at this point, it seems that Wimax is still quite inferior to other broadband technologies, but it still has complete development opportunities.

The important thing is that we need to look at the object to serve what is Wimax? If we consider WiMAX to compete with 3G in terms of IT, it is impossible because 3G coverage is too large. And specifically, 3G is Internet access anytime, anywhere. Therefore, there is no background to see Wimax in terms of technology.

However, if viewed from the perspective of users, the Vietnamese market still has a lot of 'land' to develop technologies, including Wimax. Having been tested by the first enterprise, VDC Computer and Data Communication Company of VNPT Group with its partners since 2004, until now, other trial licenses have received more businesses. and deployment.

And experts admit, in fact, that no enterprise has tested Wimax technology but failed. According to VnMedia , in 2011, there will be a few more businesses including Dong Duong Telecom to participate in implementing Wimax technology services in Vietnam.

The world now has about 13 million Wimax subscribers, only 3.7 million new subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2010 alone. Technology experts forecast that Wimax subscribers will continue to increase by 5.5 million more subscribers in 2011.
