Photoshop is now available for mobile devices

Editing photos on the go has always been a trade-off between convenience and features. With Adobe's release of Photoshop for mobile, that's no longer the case. Photoshop Mobile gives you professional tools without the need for a computer.

Adobe Announces Photoshop Mobile for iPhone

On February 25, Adobe announced Photoshop Mobile, its latest iPhone app. While Photoshop has been available on iPad since 2019, this is the first dedicated mobile app for the photo editing tool. As of now, Photoshop Mobile is only available for iPhone; however, Adobe will release Photoshop Mobile for Android by the end of 2025.

Photoshop Mobile is aimed at creatives who want to edit on the go. While it's a similar tool to Adobe Express for mobile, Photoshop Mobile is more focused on image editing (whereas Adobe Express is geared towards content creation).

Having the power of Photoshop at your fingertips could be a game-changer for the creative world. Not only do you get more of your favorite Photoshop tools, but you also get new features, connected apps, more affordable pricing, and access to them on your phone anytime, anywhere.

Photoshop is now free on Android

Android has never had real Photoshop before—now it does, and it doesn't cost anything. The beta version of Photoshop for mobile has just launched for Android, and anyone can try it for free. If you've ever wanted real Photoshop tools on your phone, now's your chance.

Photoshop is finally available on Android

On June 3, 2025, Adobe finally released Photoshop on Android (Beta), with immediate download. It has been a long wait to finally have a Photoshop app on Android.

Photoshop on Android has everything you want and need for a creative tool on the go. Whether you're a professional creator, a hobbyist, or something in between, having Photoshop right on your phone really helps keep your creative brain powered up.

Photoshop on Android (beta) is free, includes premium features

The Photoshop app for Android — similar to Photoshop on the iPhone — is free to download or install. Anyone, anywhere, can get Photoshop on their phone right now.

The benefit of Photoshop on Android (beta) is that all premium features are free for all users to use. This includes intuitive selection features like Tap Select, which identifies objects in your photo or multi-layered project, allowing you to tap to select an element even in scanned images.

While it's unknown how long the app will remain in Beta mode, getting free access to Adobe's premium features like the Generative AI tool doesn't happen often, so it's best to take full advantage of them while you can.

Other Adobe products are changing prices, including Creative Cloud subscriptions.

Photoshop on mobile (including Android and iPhone) has its own subscription plan that includes Photoshop tools in a web browser. Once the Android app leaves beta, users will have to choose between just accessing the free tools—of which Photoshop on mobile still has a lot—or subscribing to Photoshop on mobile and web for $7.99/month or $69.99/year to access premium features.

Photoshop Mobile and Web plans do not include the Photoshop Desktop app.

Photoshop mobile users also have access to nearly endless Adobe Stock files, which can enhance your creative projects with textures, stock images, and elements you couldn't create yourself.

Currently, Photoshop on Android (Beta) does not connect to Adobe Fonts. However, a full version is in development to allow your typography designs to flourish.

Explore creativity on the go from anywhere

Photoshop for mobile is for everyone, whether you're a 20-year design professional, a modern content creator working from the palm of your hand, or even someone who just wants to put their friend's face on Arnold Schwarzenegger's body for fun. You can do it all from your phone.

The beauty of Photoshop on Android is that it syncs your Adobe Cloud files so you can work on desktop projects like PSDs from your phone. This is great if you're in a meeting or traveling and can't get a full computer setup, but you still need to make creative changes to your projects. You can also use the Photoshop app on your mobile device to brainstorm ideas, then sync to the cloud to finish your creations on a bigger screen later.

Photoshop on Android has masking tools, layers, selection tools, blend modes, and import tools. The only limit to what or how you can create from your Android device is your imagination.

The app is fast and easy to navigate with your fingers, using touch-based tools or easy sliders to drag and drop elements. You can upload original images, create from scratch, or use Adobe Stock elements in your projects. While the interface is significantly different than you'd expect on a desktop, it feels familiar as an Adobe tool, so you won't feel lost after the first install.

Photoshop on Android (Beta) has all the features you want to see and the ones you know and love from the desktop version and its iPhone counterpart. Even on a smaller mobile screen, your creativity is limitless.

Although Photoshop's interface on Android is smaller, the UX/UI of the mobile app is well-built. With stacked layers, horizontal toolbars, and easy-to-open tool stacks, you won't feel like you're missing anything.

Outstanding features in Photoshop Mobile version

As you might expect, you won't find every desktop Photoshop feature in the mobile app. But there are features on Photoshop Mobile that aren't available on the desktop, nor are they available on Photoshop Web.

You can create Photoshop projects using your own images, starting from a blank canvas or harnessing the power of Adobe Firefly to create images. You'll also have access to Adobe Stock from Photoshop Mobile, if you need stock images and can't source them yourself. Free users can access this too, but paid users get access to much more.

Traditional Photoshop features like layers, selection tools, blend modes, and masks are all available in Photoshop Mobile. Photoshop Mobile takes advantage of Photoshop's marquee selection features, allowing for a variety of selection options, including Tap Select—exclusive to Photoshop Mobile—and more traditional selection tools.

Users will also find a number of AI features in the mobile app, including old favorites like Generative Fill and Generative Expand, but there are also reference images and a new AI tool for Photoshop Mobile, Generate, similar.

All-New Photoshop Mobile and Web Subscriptions

Along with the announcement of Photoshop for mobile, Adobe has included the feature in its latest subscription package: Photoshop Mobile and Web. This package includes both the Photoshop Mobile app and access to Photoshop Web — the browser-based version of Photoshop. While Photoshop Mobile is free to install and use, there is a Premium subscription to add features, including:

1. Adobe Firefly features like Generate Similar and Reference Image
2. Over 20,000 fonts from Adobe Fonts
3. Access to the Object Select and Magic Wand selection tools
4. Remove objects using the Remove Too, Clone Stamp, and Content-Aware Fill tools
5. Advanced blend modes to control transparency, color effects, and apply unique styles
6. Lighten or darken without affecting hue or saturation with the Lighten and Darken tools

Photoshop Mobile and Web subscriptions include premium features for Photoshop Mobile only, unlimited access to Photoshop on the Web, and premium features for Photoshop for iPad.

Other Photoshop subscribers at various price points — like the Photography Plan or the Creative Cloud All Apps plan — also have access to Photoshop Mobile Premium.
