Officially released TLS 1.3, promising a faster, safer Internet world

Recently, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has completed the revision of the TLS 1.2 protocol, the network security protocol used to protect encrypted web connections.The new version 1.3 promises to bring connectivity not only faster but also safer for users.

IEFT said Transport Layer Security 1.3 will bring 'major improvements in security, speed and privacy'.It's been 10 years since the last release and the development of the new protocol has lasted for 5 years.

Besides encryption, TLS also helps authenticate HTTPS and API sites.Google has said that every website should be protected with HTTPS and labeling pages without HTTPS is insecure since Chrome 68.

Over the years, TLS 1.2 has encountered many problems - errors in implementing code have caused serious security holes like Heartbleed in 2014. Version 1.3 brings modern and effective encryption technology, remove obsolete old elements.

Mozilla has announced support for TLS 1.3 in Firefox, Google also supports draft on Chrome 65. Facebook says that more than 50% of their traffic is secured with TLS 1.3
