Microsoft unexpectedly extended the vacation time for some versions of Windows 10 because of the Covid-19 pandemic
Microsoft has recently announced it will continue to provide updates for several versions of Windows 10 because of the challenges that organizations, businesses and individual users are facing with the Covid-19 pandemic. .
Because many managers and employees across the globe are working from home, upgrading to newer versions of Windows 10 is extremely difficult at this time. Therefore, Microsoft has decided to extend the update support period for some previous versions of Windows 10 to users.
Specifically, Windows 10 1709 version for the Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise object group is initially expected to end support on April 14, but Microsoft said it will continue to support the update until October 13. / 2020.
Besides, Windows 10 version 1809 for Home users is expected to stop supporting next month. But according to the latest announcement, the Home version and versions like Pro, Pro for Education, Pro for Workstations and IoT Core will be supported until November 10, 2020. Microsoft also said that it is suspending feature updates for Windows 10 1809 Home and Pro versions.
Previous versions of Windows Server 1809 were expected to discontinue support next month, but updates are expected to continue until November 10, 2020.
Some pretty Microsoft products such as Configuration Manager (18010), SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Foundation 2010, Project Server 2010, Dynamics 365 and Basic Authentication will continue to receive new updates.
Microsoft is also currently working on completing new feature updates for Windows 10. The initial update is expected to be released in April. But due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, all plans were halted. However, Microsoft has not revealed the official release time.
