Some versions of Windows 10 have an extended support period
Microsoft has recently decided to extend the update support period for some previous versions of Windows 10 to users. Because of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, many managers and employees across the globe are working from home, which makes it difficult to upgrade to newer versions of Windows 10.
Some previous versions of Windows 10 are renewed including:
Version 10 of Windows 10 1709 for Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise. Microsoft was initially expected to end support for this version on April 14, but they will continue to support the update until October 13, 2020.
Windows 10 version 1809 for Home users is expected to be discontinued next month. But Microsoft has just announced that it will continue to support Home edition with versions such as Pro, Pro for Education, Pro for Workstations and IoT Core until November 10, 2020.
Windows Server version 1809 is expected to discontinue support next month but will be extended until November 10, 2020.
Microsoft will continue to update new versions of some of its products such as Configuration Manager (18010), SharePoint Foundation 2010, cloud computing services SharePoint Server 2010, Project Server 2010, Dynamics 365 and Basic Authentication.
Currently, Microsoft is also trying to finalize new feature updates for Windows 10. It is predicted that Microsoft may release the next major update in May.
