Microsoft kills Outlook Lite: Stop installing from October 6, 2025, recommend switching to Outlook Mobile

Microsoft has just officially announced that it will 'kill' the Outlook Lite application - a shortened version of Outlook on mobile.

Outlook Lite was introduced in July 2022, weighing only 5MB (currently about 7.5MB). With its super-light capacity, the application promises fast performance, low battery consumption and stable operation on all types of networks. Thanks to that advantage, Outlook Lite quickly became popular, reaching more than 5 million downloads by the end of November 2023 and this number doubled in less than a year later.

However, Microsoft said it would discontinue Outlook Lite. This is the third product to be 'killed' recently, after Microsoft Editor (a browser extension) and Microsoft Lens.

As planned, from October 6, 2025 , users will no longer be able to install Outlook Lite. Those who have already installed it can continue to use it for a while before the application is completely removed.
