Instructions for updating Kodi on Android
For those who have installed and used Kodi before, updating the version for computers on Windows, macOS or Linux is not easy. However, for new users, this will be easier.
Kodi does not have automatic updates. Instead, users will have to track information on Kodi page to know when a new version is available. This information is in the Downloads section.
Updating Kodi on Android devices may be simpler or more complex than Windows, macOS, etc. This depends on how you install the original application. Now we will learn 2 ways to update Kodi on Android.
Update Kodi with Google Play Store
The easiest way to update Kodi regularly is to install the application on the Google Play store and set it to auto update mode.
To download downloaded apps automatically, open the Google Play Store on your phone and select Settings -> Auto-update apps . You can choose Auto-update apps at any time (automatically update the app at any time) or Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only (Only update apps when connecting to Wi-Fi).
If you don't want to turn on auto-update for all apps, open Google Play and select My apps and games and check if the apps are waiting to see if Kodi is available.
Update Kodi with APK
If you downloaded the Kodi APK file and sideload it on your phone, the software update process will be a bit more complicated.
First, you will need to remove the application from the phone. However, you will lose the old data.
Next, access the downloads section on the Kodi page, (https://kodi.tv/download), download the new APK file copy and reinstall it manually.
