iFixit shows that repairing the 2024 iPad is much easier

With iPad 2024, you can remove the iPad Pro's battery without having to disassemble all the major components first, like with previous generations.

Thanks to detailed analysis and durability tests, especially bending the iPad 2024, we are learning a lot about the ultra-thin design of the new iPad Pro. Recently, iFixit performed an in-depth "dissection", revealing a major internal change that can help "save hours of iPad repair". The video also gives us our first look inside the new Apple Pencil Pro.

The battery inside the new 13-inch iPad Pro M4 has a capacity of 38.99 Wh, slightly smaller than the previous generation's 40.33 Wh. Of course, Apple says you can still expect more than 10 hours of battery life thanks to improvements in the M4 chip's efficiency and better heat dissipation.

The main highlight, however, is that you can now remove the iPad Pro's battery without having to disassemble "all major components" first, like with previous generations.

iFixit's Shahram Mokhtari explains, "While removing these battery adhesive parts is a bit difficult, the fact that you can remove the battery without having to disassemble every major component inside this device is still an advantage for repair. This is a great improvement compared to previous generations.
