How to play YouTube in the background on iOS and Android

  1. Open youtube.com page on Chrome browser.
  2. Open the 3 dots icon in the upper right corner, select Request desktop site .
  3. Find and play the YouTube video you want to watch.
  4. When you see a message that YouTube wants to send a notification, select accept.
  5. Exit the Chrome app, from now on you can play back the video from your phone's notification menu.
